Brian graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1988 and began his insurance career as an Account Executive with the Konen Agency in 1993. Brian has always valued continuing education and currently holds the designations of Certified Insurance Counsellor, Certified Workers Compensation Advisor and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist.
Brian is a Past President of the Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois (IIA of Illinois) and has been presented with numerous awards for his excellence in the insurance industry, such as the Young Agent of the Year (IIA of Illinois) and Insurance Agent of the Year (Illinois 1752 Club). He is currently a Trustee at Aurora University and Marmion Academy, is the Immediate Past Chair at the Aurora Chamber of Commerce and is a Board Member at Plum Landing.
Brian is the 3rd generation of Konen in the Aurora area and resides in Sugar Grove with his wife, Ann and their three sons Nathan, Charlie and Regan. They also chase around two Wheaton Terriers; Riley and Maggie. When Brian isn’t talking insurance and risk management, he enjoys golfing, skiing, traveling with his family, and long-distance running. He’s usually trying to run off all the chocolate Oberweis ice cream he also enjoys.
